Acacia Energy offers variable rates and terms of service for prepaid electricity and post-paid service, so you can pick the plan that works for you. But before you do that, you should understand the features and benefits of each.

Traditional Postpaid Electricity

With traditional postpaid electricity service from Acacia Energy, you pay for electricity after you use it. You supply us with all the information needed to perform a credit check that will determine if you need to pay a deposit to activate service.

Once your service is activated, you’ll get a bill once a month and will have approximately 15 days to pay your bill. If you fail to pay the bill by the noted invoice due date, you will receive a disconnect notice and will be charged a 5% late fee. If you don’t pay your electric bill in 10 days, your service will be disconnected.

Acacia Energy postpaid service offers paperless billing via email, and an auto-pay option so you never have to worry about missing an electricity bill payment. Our outstanding customer service options include responsive texting, online customer chat, email, and automated telephone account management with payment via phone and live customer service.

Prepaid Electricity

You are eligible for Acacia Energy prepaid electricity service if you have a smart meter from your local utility, most homes have a smart meter installed, and the ability to receive either text or e-mail notifications. Acacia Energy services the CenterPoint, OnCor, AEP North, AEP Central, TNMP, Sharyland and Sharyland McAllen areas.

Acacia Energy will need your name, contact information and security information you choose to allow access to your account. There is no credit check and no social security number or other personal information is needed.

You’ll receive daily updates and account notifications via a cell phone text message or email. Acacia Energy sends these notifications to help you manage your account, including a daily account update with balance available, average usage and estimated days remaining, payment receipt notification and reminders to replenish your account when it drops below an estimated 7 days of remaining service.

With prepaid service, you will not receive a monthly electricity bill because you pay in advance for your electricity. This allows you to pay any amount at any time on a schedule that works for you. Acacia Energy can provide you with a summary of your usage and payments at any time.

Customers designated by their local utility as having a “Critical Care” or “Chronic Care” condition, or customers that could become seriously ill or sustain a dangerous or life-threatening condition upon disconnect will not be able to sign up for pre-paid service.
