ERCOT Slows Plans to Overhaul Grid

In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for electricity, it was expected that plans to redesign Texas electricity grid would be underway as soon as this year.
But that won’t be necessary, according to ERCOT’s latest forecast.
After suffering occasional blackouts due to weather-induced storm systems earlier this year, the Energy Reliability Council of Texas’ choice not to pursue a grid overhaul comes as an unexpected decision to several lawmakers, but only time will tell.
